Carpe Diem Musica continues to offer up essential club sounds, this time from rising UK star David Glass complete with remixes from Circus ringleader Yousef and Vincenzo D'Amico.
David Glass credits seeing Yousef play with kick starting his own musical career and since then he has had big support from Pete Tong, releases on Witty Tunes and Robsoul, Circus and many more, as well as playing everywhere from The Warehouse Project to Boiler Room to Pacha. His one original is Calzature, a slick and swinging house tune with slinky drums and playful percussive slices. Loose melodies have a subtle old school feel and the pumping vibes flow freely from this one, ensuring whenever it is dropped the floor will go off.
Circus label boss and promoter, globetrotting DJ and hit making producer Yousef then remixes and his is more direct, with clattering hits and mad sirens, turbocharged beats and clever filters all bring lots of rawness and realness to the tech groove. Lastly, the eclectic talent that is Vincenzo D'Amico-who has people like Marco Carola and Roger Sanchez play his cuts-serves up his own powerful remix. It is techno in nature but deep, warm and driving, with swirling keys and forceful drums making you get loose. As such, this is another stellar EP.
