The new Konstruktiv release comes from Shkedul in the form of a 5 tracker EP titled ID7.
After a debut EP on Emmanuel's ARTS imprint in 2014, followed by releases on Wunderbloc Records, Blackwater, Intellighenzia Electronica and a remix of Kevin De Vries' last Konstruktiv EP, the Italian producer readies three original productions accompanied by remixes from Antonello Teora and label boss Rekord 61.
The hard hitting hats of ID70 work hard throughout the entirety of the track. A deep bass rolls in the low ends, letting a smooth melodic loop do the talking, giving the EP opener a space voyage feel. Fellow Italian Antonello Teora jumps in on the second track with his take on ID70. The original melody takes a backseat in favor of a fidgety synth that magnifies the tension and adds a delicate, eerie touch to Shkedul's groundwork. ID71 is the killer of the lot. Heavy kicks and shimmering synths are warped to create a compact shuffling groove. ID73 sees Shkedul break things up, exploring deeper and more dramatic ground, placing the emphasis on the off-beat. Rekord 61 closes the EP with his strong take on ID73 which drifts between narrow tunnel techno and haunting harmonics, working dancers to exhaustion with an ultra effective syncopated cowbell.
ID7 is released digitally, July 4th 2016 on Konstruktiv.
