Mallorca native Ralfus is back with a new EP for Malo Records, an excellent and diverse house release filled with the funky, techy percussive work outs that have made his music a favorite of the label. The title track Chiken Skin gets things started with a beautiful melody and tight chord stabs before transitioning with some tension building FX, later dropping in ride cymbals to create an excellent start to the EP. Up next, Yuna proves to be an exciting club banger, with some well placed vocal samples, emerging synth swells, and clav rhythms that entice the dancefloor. On You are My Brother things get a bit more hypnotic on what might be the most interesting track, with pitched down vocals and a massive breakdown with classy deep chords that give way to a primetime, monster groove. Carpaccio de Arpeggios is a more light hearted affair, with a funky bassline and a swinging house loop which are propelled by memorable synthesizers and beat-boxing. It's a well rounded and potent release, marking a new level of quality for the Balearic artist.
