Los Toscos, Carmelo Torres – La Negra Tulia / Teofilo El Gaitero [Galletas Calientes Records]

The gang was later joined by two key figures of current Colombian music: Pedro Ojeda on the drums, and Mario Galeano on the guacharaca (Ondatropica, Los Piranas, Frente Cumbiero..) Los Toscos is at first an avant-garde, conjectural jazz bind from Bogota, composed of Juan David Castano (percussions), Santiago Botero (bass) and Kike Mendoza (guitar).
Infusing psychedelic, surf, stirring guitars, and strong accent subdivision to Colombian folklore, this tremendously powerful combo takes cumbia to another true.
Landero's admirer Carmelo Torres, accordion whizz-kid, imposes his own interpretations of these two ritual cumbia anthems, backed up with avant-garde Bogota's horde Los Toscos.
This unconventional deliver on Galletas Bailables (a sublabel of Galletas Calientes Records) features two bee’s knees tunes written by Colombian legends Andres Landero and Adolfo Pacheco.
