Glico, Podime, Battric & MIVU – Kalabalak [Metroline Limited]

Metroline Limited continues the exploration into modern dancefloor minimalism with this solid for track EP by producer Battric & MIVU who, for the occasion, teamed up with their buddy Podime to deliver Kalabalak.
Battric & MIVU are the people behind the label Verbeiten Records and from the early days of their career have been playing dj sets which were comprised of minimalistic sounds, striving towards the darkness and underground, always insatiable when it comes to endless willingness to play for long hours.
Besides their own Verbeiten their music has been released on Baile Musik, Monday Morning, Act Natural and Fantastic Friends amongst others.
Podime is currently the brainchild of Blagoj Rambabov.
He is using this alter ego to showcase some of the darkest and experimental sounds in the underground dance music scene.
The EP opener Gorlami is a peak time monster and is driven along by an infectious chunky tech-funk groove, shuffly hats and bleeps.
The original version Kalabalak lends itself to the craziest of after parties.
Ready to get disoriented at some late hour of the morning in an East London warehouse?
This track is perfect for that with clever use of dark pads, cut up vocals and off beat piano keys.
Belgian producer Glico (who we got to know for releases on influential labels such as Kina and Baile Musik) takes Kalabalak to different territories adding plenty of funk and groove.
His remix is a super funky and infectious minmal tech-house bomb and will have you grooving to it no doubt!
We ventour back in trippy and sinister territory with the closing track Donata.
Super clever drum programming and sci-fi style synths are the main elements of the track, which chugs along with the help of a huge sub bass and super distorted hats.
