Lo-Fi 45s latest offering, Departime Remixes is a package of new mixes to the labels debut release by Kasey Taylor & Lister Cooray.
The original release, an ode to the late, great John Sharp featured heavily on Australian dancefloors last summer. The follow up, coming out just shy of the 2 year anniversary of his passing gives a few fresh interpretations of the title track from some talented international and local producers.
The first mixes on the record come from brothers from Berlin, Florian Kruse & Vincenzo.
Florian Kruse is the label head of Save Room Recordings, and his collaborations with Nils Nuernberg (Kruse & Nuernberg Kolour Recordings, Stil Vor Talent), and singer Hendrik Burkhard (Noir Music, GREEN) as well as recent releases on Poker Flat Recordings have gained him international acclaim. Kruses mix gives a dark techy alternative to the package.
Kruses older brother Vincenzo contributes the next track on the release. A constant feature on Anjunadeep, Dessous Recordings & liebe*details rosters, Vincenzos deep mix takes a more melodic turn, perfect for that early AM dancefloor vibe.
Lo-Fi 45s golden child Retza, currently on tour in Europe serves up the third mix; a hauntingly eclectic underground take. We also welcome Retzas REWORK crewmate, Damir Smith to the label and release with an upbeat melodic tech house cut to round out the list.
