This project was such an adventure, but first and foremost, I need to say my thank-you's.
Mom and Dad,
Thank you for listening to the concerts from behind my closed bedroom door for all those years. You have put up with me since 1997, so thank you for your unconditional love, your constant support in all of the twists and turns of my life, and for always being my #1 fans.
You saw something in me even before I did. You have not only bent over backwards to show me that I can pursue my dreams, but you have shoved me head-first into the music world. I harass you 24/7 for advice, but through our talks I've realized how different, yet alike we are. It's freaky, really. You put up with me even though I am a mess, and you have given me some of the best memories of my life. Thanks for the late-night phone calls, for updating my music tastes, for the hilarious stories, and for making my life brighter.
Isaac and Thorald,
Thank you for being the other masterminds behind this project. From Evernote, to Thorald's piano, to the studio with Johnny, and then to downtown L.A. where I sat slack-jawed at the giant movie advertisements plastered onto skyscrapers, this has truly been an adventure. You listened to my thoughts and helped me translate them into this beautiful creation. Thank you for sharing my brain with me and sharing your talents to help create Chemical Lonely.
This EP is about depression, blending in, and the uncertainties that come with being young. It is also about the risks of love, emotional barriers, and taking advantage of youth. I'm so excited to be able to share my thoughts and perspectives. Endless thank you's to those who listen.
